What is a Technical Support Engineer?


A Technical Support Engineer responds to customers’ questions regarding usage or problems that customers are having with their systems.

A Technical Support Engineer may perform these activities:

  1. Respond to customers’ technical questions through multiple channels (e-mail, phone, web sessions, on-site).
  2. Create a list of FAQ/knowledgebase for answers to common questions.
  3. Create documentation and/or deliver training.

Note: This is typically a Tier 2 or higher-level support position.
